glass

Hello, friends! I haven’t gone this long without posting since I launched my website. So thank YOU for sticking with me! We’ve had a very full last two months – some I will write about; some not – but boy, have I missed writing and sharing.

This little ditty came about as a tiny poem prompt, which you may recognize from previous posts: Beth Kempton provides a word and instructs us to, “write, with no editing, for 10 minutes,” and see what comes out. Much more is to come, but for now, I give you…

glass

you can shatter

and sparkle —

all at the same time

formed from sand

and kissed by stardust —

you are alchemical.

you are magic

thank goodness you (are)

transparent —

so we can watch the leaves blow

to the ground,

while snuggly warm inside. and

we hold (still) hope.

I look up and see birds and

blue sky and love above you.

and I can’t wait to

walk

amongst your shatterings
