I wonder.
how does one feel
when high up in the
mountains?
where the stars are so close
and the clouds are, too —
where
it’s as if I can
run my fingers through their
fluff
& sparkle
I imagine
one feels closer to
creation
to
the quiet, to
the divine —I would guess —
closer to curiosity
perhaps, even
to safety
to…
love? even…
allthewhile
in my pocket sit crumpled up tissues,
odd coins and even odder fuzzes;
yet
in my lungs, dance crisp mountain
airs
filled with a pure-ity previously
unbeknown. and
while
in the shadows of starlight —
glowing from
whispers of bobcat breaths—
I manage, somehow to
find you; to
discover us: to unearth
love.
that’s how this one
feels

photo is from the Ceraso Family Reunion 2024, taken by our gracious server at Seven Springs Mountain Resort
Every other year, since foreva, my godmother has been organizing a family reunion that originated from a group of siblings who came to America in the late 19th century — you guessed it…we’re all related to the ‘Nuts… (I would be surprised if you were actually surprised at this tidbit of knowledge. 😊 If you haven’t already, go to the Menu above & click on, the ‘Nuts, to find out more about these lovelies.) At this point, in 2024, the youngest generation are fairly distantly “related,” but that matters not, as the stories we share manage to somehow bring us all a little closer together.
So there we were, only two weeks ago, in the mountains of Pennsylvania —Seven Springs Mountain Resort, to be precise — and I am once again overwhelmed by family, by love, and by nature. Unique to this reunion, however, we saw a real live bobcat in the flesh! Please refer to cousin Jimmy McDermott’s action photo below, of said feline…Can you see the the white-ish blob? Well… that would be the bobcat… hahahaha. I swear, all four of us who were together saw it!!
Wising you well. Until next time! 🫶🏻
