through the veil

dancers glide

across the floor, whilst

actors carry on

as if never before, whilst

lights surprise

like no other reprise

and yet, here we are.

“I love you,”

is a common sentiment, most

sincerely felt. yet clouded over

I must know:

will you be?

or

will you do?

artwork aplenty becomes

your heartbeat’s sightline,

and

I can’t help but

thank you for this exact hour, this

precise moment when

we breathe as one;

we move as one,

uncovering the

magic patiently awaiting us, my dears

L.S. 2024

I happen to be the producer for my local high school’s musical, and we are in the throws of rehearsals, with opening night quickly approaching on March 7th. Why do we – the production team and army of volunteers – do what we do? Why do we spend countless hours willing this production to life? Well, that’s a very simple answer: We do it for the splendid teenagers we work with. Love 💜 you all, RHS Musical cast and crew!

I’m not partial, I swear — I mean, I’ve seen many-a-high school musical production — and I can honestly say, these students are good. You want a slice of Broadway, brought to Western PA? This is your opportunity. 💜🤩 You can buy tickets here for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat…and they will sell out…

Photo was taken during our lighting “cue to cue” rehearsal, when Jack Flanick, a junior, just finished singing, “One More Angel in Heaven.”
