exercising the dusted-off ivory keys,
whose songs became mumbles
of diminished chords and clashing cymbals,
tuner-toner-melody-driver chimes
G!
G!
again!
sharp-ish.
tinkling up the scale to
A!
A!
again!
this one flat-ish, to sharpen.
over
and over each member of this team-88, hums
one
by one releasing breaths of jubilation
-finally!-
for the gift of
perfect pitch.
now, they can sing!
of joy!
of harmony!
together, in melody’s perfect
union as
an explosion of heavenly angels
pours from
those age-old spinets

Photo is of our very own old, scratched up, well-loved, Acrosonic piano. Guy Russo was the piano tuner who brought out my gibberish ☝🏼 while he was hard at work. 😊
